Chairman's Message
CA. Bhanu Suryadevara, Chair, ICAI New England (2022)
Dear Fellow Chartered Accountants,
Welcome to the New England Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI New England). ICAI New England is the 4th Chapter of the ICAI in the United States and as we enter the second year after our formation in January 2021 I could not be more pleased with the foundation we have already laid.
I am very proud of the base we have built up in 2021 which was a result of tireless efforts of the founding Managing Committee and an amazing group of volunteers. With about 60+ paid members in the first year and a few sponsorships, we were able to put in place a lot of infrastructure related items, sustain the organization, and host quite a few events both virtually and in-person.
Here are some of the key priorities that I would like to work together with our Managing Committee for 2022:
I am proud of the accomplishments of my fellow Chartered Accountants in the New England region, and globally. The shared journey of all of us in navigating the CA course, the grit it takes to become a CA, develops an unique kinship and mutual respect between us. I am personally very thrilled to be the Chairperson of this elite organization, following in the footsteps of my Grandfather who was the chairperson for an ICAI branch 50 years ago in 1974!
The Managing Committee of 2022-24 looks forward to engaging with each and every one of you and to a very successful and meaningful year ahead.

Here are some of the key priorities that I would like to work together with our Managing Committee for 2022:
- Further build a strong membership base for the Chapter. We would like to significantly increase the number of subscribed members for 2022; enabling us to fund various programs.
- Enhance opportunities to network, develop professional skills and capabilities, and career opportunities for our members; we want to tap into volunteers even more than last year.
- While we continue to work with various other organizations such as ICAI US, Chapters and Offices in the ICAI US and overseas network, and ICAI itself, we want to connect more deeply with our chapter membership and tailor the events and activities around them.
- Further build strong operational processes of our Chapter since we are still in the inception phase. We want to put in place stronger policies/procedures, update by-laws where needed, and also work on obtaining IRS approvals as a non profit organization
